Dinnertime Sunset

Subject: Lake Minnehaha
Photo: Joey Meddock
TSQ Location: Book 1.4, Chronicle Section , Page 17
This sunset was right after Henshaw and I came in from shooting the handrail we used on our Black and White page. Mikey Ennen was out there with us as well as a few other riders.
We got covered up by the clouds toward sunset but the sun came back out for an encore performance with only a few minutes to spare. I was standing on top of Harf’s dock shooting downward over the top of Mikey as he rode by. Between each shot, the sun kept getting juicier and juicer in color. I tried all I could to get the rider AND the sunset in the shot but it just wasn’t working out. I was confined to the roof, unable to move quick enough for any other angle.

This is one of my favorite Meddock sunset shots ever.
Something about the vivid colors and the rich blacks and blues…
werd is bon kid, werd is bon.
Great natural vignetting!
I like the way that the shadows from the clouds created somewhat of a frame around the sunset. Thats what I like about the photo.
