This was taken on a shoot up in Wisconsin last summer. I was up there doing a shoot on a private lake for Nautique. The water up there was super clean and clear, casting a greenish tint. The sandy bottom made a perfect setup to shoot a few “miniwaves.”

Even with the smallest of boat wakes, created by the Ski Nautique 196, the wakes broke on shore in beautiful symmetry. Of all the “miniwaves” we shot, this was the only one that had consistent shape and frequency.

It’s amazing the difference in the photographs when we shot glassy water conditions versus windblown chop. Many of the images didn’t make the cut strictly because of the busy water. It was difficult to keep the shape and ‘tube’ of the wave if there were any distracting factors.
